Homemade Coffee Creamer

Have I mentioned how much I love coffee?

I really, really, really love coffee. I love the smell in my kitchen in the morning. I love the warmth of the drink on cool fall mornings. And, I have to admit, I love the caffeine.

I take my coffee with just a touch of cream.

And since we're trying to make more of our food,
avoid artificial sweeteners,
and generally, be a little healthier
I decided to make a little creamer.

The results?

1 pint half and half
2 tablespoons maple syrup
2 tablespoons vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Heat the half and half over medium heat just until warm. Add the maple syrup and vanilla. Stir well.
Remove from heat and add cinnamon and nutmeg.

Add to coffee and enjoy!

You can also experiment with different flavors. I wonder what it would taste like with a little honey instead of the maple syrup... or just some vanilla... or some chocolate syrup...

  1. I love going to your house, because without fail you have the most delicious creamer and fresh coffee when I wake up :) I can't wait to see you for thanksgiving. Love, your little sis

  2. I'm sure Taylor will be sampling your homemade creamer! Yummy!!!
